Note to Jon Brunk, Ski to Sea photog

We didn't buy more than one Ski to Sea race photo because your photographer shot the canoe leg from the bridge, rather than from river level.  From that angle, anybody with caps (such as us) will have their eyes obscured by the visors.  We appreciate that one can more easily isolate each competitor by shooting from above, but if that were the only object, you would have shot all the other legs of the race from a cherry picker.

We don't know what length lens you have, but if you really have to shoot from the Hannegan Bridge, you might consider a longer lens to reduce the angle and get a little more of competitors' faces.  We know your shooter could have done better than he/she did, because we had few or no canoes close to us as we approached the bridge. Many paddlers had two or three shots taken--we had only one.

If we race next year, we hope for better photos.

Thanks.
